The Library Journal is an independent online journal about books and the attention we bring to them.

What we publish

Short editorial essays, modest reading lists and practical observations about keeping a notebook, finding time for a book and returning to a familiar page. We do not sell books, offer library memberships or promise an ideal reading routine.

Our illustrations

All pictures on this site are original illustrated studies. The book covers are visual interpretations created for the journal, not reproductions of publisher artwork or photographs of particular editions.
